Dev Deepawali 2025: The anticipation for the date of Dev Deepawali is shared by both saints and householders alike. This festival, celebrated on the full moon day of the Kartik month, transforms the banks of the Ganges and homes into a dazzling display of lights. The occasion commemorates Lord Shiva's victory over the demon Tripurasura. Every Ganga ghat and temple in Kashi is adorned with illuminated lamps. It is believed that any virtuous deed performed on this day reaches the deities directly, bringing happiness, peace, and prosperity into one’s life.

The festival of Kartik Purnima will be observed on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. On this day, taking a holy dip in the Ganges, performing a lamp offering, and worshipping Lakshmi and Narayan yield immense benefits. This year, a highly auspicious yoga is set to occur on Dev Deepawali. According to the Panchang, a favorable alignment known as Shiva Vasa will commence at 6:48 PM, during which worship of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati will take place.

On Dev Deepawali, reciting the Shri Sukta, Lakshmi Stotra, Lakshmi Ashtakshara Stotra, or Kanakadhara Stotra is believed to yield special blessings.

Many devotees engage in the continuous recitation of the Ramayana on this day. They spend the night singing devotional songs, enjoying cultural dances, and celebrating with music.
