Navjot Singh Sidhu's Best IPL 2025 Team: Former Indian cricketer and commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu has revealed his selection for the best team of IPL 2025. Surprisingly, he has appointed the renowned player Rohit Sharma as the captain of his 'Team of the Tournament'. This decision comes despite Rohit playing as a player in the IPL for the last two years.

Last season, the Mumbai Indians entrusted Hardik Pandya with the captaincy. Sidhu made this announcement shortly after the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured their first IPL title in Ahmedabad, via his YouTube channel.

One of the most debated points is the exclusion of Shreyas Iyer from the captaincy. Iyer, who led the Punjab Kings to their first final in 11 years, was undoubtedly one of the best captains of IPL 2025, guiding a relatively inexperienced team with confidence. Along with head coach Ricky Ponting, Iyer continued to trust some uncapped talents despite having several international stars, which greatly benefited the team. Consequently, many regarded Iyer as the standout captain of the season.

Sidhu Recognizes Rohit as the Best Captain

Despite this, Sidhu highlighted Rohit's five IPL titles and his impressive 81-run performance against Gujarat Titans in this year's Eliminator, choosing legacy over mere statistics. He scored 418 runs this season at a strike rate of 149.28. Although Rohit started the season poorly, averaging below 30, he eventually found his rhythm.
