Indian-Origin Motel Manager Shot Dead in Pennsylvania: Criminal incidents targeting individuals of Indian descent are on the rise in the United States. The latest case involves the tragic shooting of 50-year-old Rakesh Ehagban, a motel manager in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This incident occurred on Friday when he stepped outside to investigate a disturbance in the motel's parking lot.

According to reports, the suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Stanley Eugene West, who faces charges of criminal homicide, attempted murder, and recklessly endangering another person. Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter. The Allegheny County Police Department reported that they received a call about the shooting at around 1 PM local time at the motel on Steubenville Pike.

Police stated that the suspect, Stanley West, 38, allegedly shot his female companion during an argument in the parking lot. When Rakesh Ehagban went outside to check on the situation and reportedly asked, “Are you alright?”, West shot him in the head at close range, resulting in his immediate death. Authorities also noted that CCTV footage captured West approaching Ehagban.

Officials reported that after the police pursued the suspect's vehicle, West fired at them, injuring a detective in the leg. In response, officers returned fire, hitting the suspect multiple times. Additionally, a woman who was injured during the shooting managed to escape to a nearby business and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
