The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to announce the Indian team soon. In a significant development, there are two major pieces of good news for India, making them strong contenders for the upcoming tournament. Captain Suryakumar Yadav and star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah are likely to be available for selection. Suryakumar is set to participate in the selection committee meeting in Mumbai for the Asia Cup.

Suryakumar recently underwent hernia surgery and has been rehabilitating at the BCCI's Center of Excellence (COE), where he has successfully passed his fitness test. According to reports from Indian Express, a source from BCCI confirmed, 'Suryakumar Yadav has demonstrated his fitness and will be available to captain the Indian team in the Asia Cup. He was at the COE for his rehabilitation process, and now he has been declared fit. He will attend the selection committee meeting.'

In another report, it was mentioned that Bumrah had communicated with the selectors a few days ago, expressing his readiness to play. A BCCI source stated, 'Bumrah has informed the selectors that he will be available for selection for the Asia Cup. The selection committee will meet next week to discuss this.' The senior selection committee, chaired by Ajit Agarkar, will convene on August 19 in Mumbai to finalize the 15-member squad for the Asia Cup, which will be held in a T20 format from September 9 to 28 in the UAE.
