अग्निवीरों के लिए सेवा अवधि में वृद्धि: अब छह साल तक रह सकेंगे सेना में
सेना में अग्निवीरों की सेवा अवधि बढ़ी
अग्निवीरों के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण घोषणा की गई है। अब वे चार साल की सेवा के बजाय छह साल तक भारतीय सेना में रह सकेंगे। यह जानकारी चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ (CDS) जनरल एनएस राजा सुब्रमणि ने बुधवार को साझा की। हालांकि, इस दो साल के अतिरिक्त कार्यकाल के लिए अग्निवीरों को एक चयन प्रक्रिया से गुजरना होगा।
25% अग्निवीरों को स्थायी सेवा में शामिल किया जाएगा
नई नीति के तहत, हर बैच के 25 प्रतिशत उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन करने वाले अग्निवीरों को नियमित सेवा में शामिल किया जाएगा। शेष 75 प्रतिशत अग्निवीरों को दो साल का अतिरिक्त सेवा विस्तार दिया जाएगा, जिसमें उन्हें पहले से अधिक वेतन और भत्ते प्राप्त होंगे। यह विस्तार अग्निवीरों की सहमति से होगा।
अग्निवीरों की संख्या और सेवा

At the time, it was decided that Agniveers would undergo continuous performance evaluations and that the scheme would be reviewed periodically. The four-year tenure of the first batch of Agniveers is now nearing completion. During these four years, we have received positive feedback on their performance. As you know, 25 per cent of Agniveers are enrolled in the regular forces based on merit. Earlier, the remaining 75 per cent were to exit the forces and enter civilian life as disciplined and motivated young people. Under the revised scheme, however, the remaining 75 per cent will be offered another engagement period of two years. On completion of this additional two-year period, all Agniveers who are willing to continue will be enrolled in the Armed Forces, subject to objective selection criteria. These are the four major aspects of the scheme.”

वर्तमान में, भारतीय थलसेना, नौसेना और वायुसेना में लगभग 3.18 लाख अग्निवीर कार्यरत हैं। आंकड़ों के अनुसार, 31 दिसंबर तक पहले बैच के लगभग 18,300 अग्निवीरों का चार साल का कार्यकाल समाप्त होने वाला है, जो कि पहले बैच में भर्ती हुए 24,400 अग्निवीरों का लगभग 75 प्रतिशत है।
वायुसेना ने 712 अग्निवीरों को नियमित सेवा में रखा
पहले की योजना के अनुसार, नवंबर के मध्य से 75 प्रतिशत अग्निवीरों को सेवा से बाहर किया जाना था। लेकिन नई व्यवस्था के तहत, उन्हें दो साल और सेवा का अवसर मिलेगा। पिछले महीने, भारतीय वायुसेना ने पहले अग्निवीर वायु बैच के 2,850 प्रशिक्षुओं में से 712 को नियमित सेवा में बनाए रखने का निर्णय लिया था।
